What is included in the rental fee?

With your rental you will have access to the first and second floors of Cheney Mansion. You and your guests will also be able enjoy the expansive grounds surrounding the Mansion including the lighted patio, greenhouse  and woodland waterfall garden.

For indoor events, the following amenities are included:
  • (15) 60″ round tables
  • (4) 48″ round tables
  • (3) 6′ rectangle tables
  • (6) 8′ rectangle tables (2 of which are permanently located on the 3rd floor)
  • (8) adjustable highboy tables
  • 150 mahogany chairs
  • Audio system and Wi-Fi
  • Presentation Projector/Screen (for an additional fee)
  • Microphone and podium
For outdoor events, the following amenities are also included:
  • 6 adjustable highboy tables
  • 150 white chairs
Do I have to use a vendor from the Preferred Catering list?

No, you do not, however there is an additional fee. The vendors featured on the preferred catering list have been carefully selected due to their long standing history of hosting events at Cheney Mansion. Their knowledge of specific catering needs at Cheney Mansion is extremely helpful to make your event run flawlessly.

Can we play music outdoors?

Yes, music is allowed outdoors however we are courteous and respectful of our neighbors. We will work with your DJ or musicians regarding volume levels and we have established ending times for outdoor music. See our music policy.

When do we gain access to the Mansion prior to our event?

You will have access two hours prior to the start time of your event. If you require additional time, please discuss this with Cheney Mansion staff.

What is the Cheney Mansion alcohol policy?

You have the option of purchasing alcohol through your caterer or you may purchase it yourself. However, alcohol must be served during your event only by your licensed catering staff.

Where do our guests park?

There is ample street parking around the perimeter of Cheney Mansion. Parking restrictions end at 5pm with a few exceptions which we can discuss with you at the time of booking.

Do you provide linen and tableware?

No, all linens and tableware are provided through your caterer.

Are there any limitations for event decorations?
  • Decorations cannot be attached to walls or ceilings inside Cheney Mansion.
  • Candle flames must be glass-enclosed indoors and outdoors.
  • Additional lighting cannot be placed in trees or plantings around the Mansion.
  • Helium balloons are not allowed on the property.
  • Rice, birdseed or confetti cannot be thrown during your event.
  • Ice sculptures are not allowed.
Can I serve homemade food at my event?

No, all food products must be provided by a licensed food handler with proper certificate of insurance.

Is there a place for my party to get ready?

Yes, we provide a bridal suite as well as a groom’s room available two hours prior to your event.

What time should our ceremony begin?

We suggest your ceremony start 30 minutes after your event commences.

Is there smoking on the premises?

Cheney Mansion and its ground are smoke-free. Smoking is only allowed outside the property gates.

 Is there time included in our contract for a ceremony rehearsal?

Yes, there is typically a one hour rehearsal scheduled between 4:30 – 6:30pm immediately prior to your event.

Is there a designated end time for Cheney Mansion events?

Yes, all events must end by 11:00pm to be respectful to our neighbors.

What if it rains and our event is planned outside?

If your guest size is under 130 we can accommodate your event fully on the first floor.  If your guest size is 130 or more we would utilize our third floor ballroom space for your after dinner reception.
